The Last Flite Fest was while ago. Sorry we left you hanging. It’s high time we had another meet up. This is a great opportunity to meet a bunch of people you have been in contact with on the Fliteboard Owners Group. There will be group rides for all levels. Dinner on Saturday night at an amazing local Mexican Cantina.

Matty McVeigh and Ash from Propel will be running a clinic for those who want to push their wave riding further.

Flite will also be here with some demos of the latest and greatest from the Series 6 range.  If you have a friend or two who has been on the fence about purchasing their own Fliteboard, perhaps consider inviting them to join (chat to Ash about extra boards).

Whilst this is strictly speaking a social ride and you are responsible for your own safety, there will be daily briefings given by locals to avoid any unforeseen issues. To avoid problems arising from large numbers on the water at the same time, we will split into smaller groups so people are not on top of each other. Each group will have a local rider who can point out any hazards. Be aware that there a quite a few ocean swimmers in the region. The distance off a swimmer/surfer is 60m when you are at speed. This includes the other riders who may be swimming back to their board.  

All start times are Ready to Ride (RTR). Please arrive with enough time to assemble equipment. 

We do have some charging options but it’s not that practical to charge at the beach in most cases. Let us know if you have concerns about not having enough battery and we can work something out.

ITNERARY

Friday Afternoon

March 20th: Ride 5pm then Dinner 7pm

For those who arrive on Friday afternoon we will do a twilight session at Terrigal Haven (weather permitting), then dinner at The Terrigal Pavilion.

Saturday March 21st

Choose one of two activities in the morning. In the afternoon you can join the downwinder if you are up for an adventure or just chill until dinner.

Morning: 9am Briefing and start

Option 1

Ride from Patonga to the Refuge bay waterfall and back. This run is the best choice for those who are not accustomed to riding in the ocean. For this trip an explore battery would be ideal, but if you only have a sport you should make it. There will be a boat as backup. 

Option 2

A wave riding session at one of the local beaches. We intend to scout this first thing in the morning to find the most optimum conditions. We will then let you know. It’s recommended that you attend this session if you have booked the Wave Clinic on Sunday. 

Saturday Afternoon: 3pm Carve Session

Join for some general carving practice in the flat water at Gosford. Matty and Ash will happily give you a few pointers to fine tune your skills. This will also be a good opportunity to try the range of foils and the new Jet 2. 

Saturday Evening: 8pm til late

Dinner at Mexicoast Restaurant owned by local legend and avid Fliteboarder Mike Cross. This Fabulous little Mexican cantina has one of the best selections or Mezcal you will find outside of Mexico. The food is absolutely awesome. Set menu $49pp. Let us know if you want to join us in the form below. 

Sunday March 22nd

  If you only show up for one day, show up for Sunday! We will most likely set up at Terrigal Haven. This is a great location to access the ocean with zero stress. The day will consist of small group rides, demos and an early morning Wave Clinic (bookings essential).  

The morning will start early (6am)  for those who have pre booked the Wave Clinic 

For those who just want to join in on the social aspect we will kick off with some group rides at 9am. There will be several local riders who will lead groups of various levels. 

You are also welcome to just go out free riding but be aware we have a heap of people who like to ocean swim. 

Nibbles and drinks will be provided by Propel. 

Wave Riding Clinic
